Spotlight on Aerin Lauder

You're likely familiar with the global luxury lifestyle brand AERIN, which includes fashion accessories and a beauty line in addition to home décor and lighting. But do you know the rest of the story behind its founder and creative director, Aerin Lauder, and her many dimensions in the design world? 

For years Aerin has served as the style and image director for the Estée Lauder Companies founded by her grandparents, Joseph and Estée Lauder. “Beauty is my heritage, but home and accessories are my passion,” she says. “There was an opportunity in the market for a lifestyle brand based on feminine, modern and effortless products with strong heritage. I decided to launch AERIN and make the whole concept of beauty part of the way we live today.”

Since 2012, the AERIN brand has constantly evolved under her leadership. Passionate about art, travel, fashion and design, Aerin says she draws inspiration for her brand, AERIN, from her own lifestyle. She and her husband and two sons enjoy homes in New York City, Easthampton and Aspen. It's her connection to Aspen that led to her release last year of the 300-page book Aspen Style, in collaboration with Assouline. Last year also brought about the debut of concept stores in New York and Palm Beach as well as the launch of her first two lines with Williams Sonoma. 

And 2018 will be just as busy as she expands AERIN lighting and debuts a new collection at High Point Market with Visual Comfort. As we embark on another New Year, the DSA team would like to thank you for your continued support. We pride ourselves in creating a community that is for interior designers, created by interior designers. We focus on practices to improve our member experiences. And while we are approached (weekly!) to do so, DSA refuses to sell our member list. This is part of our membership agreement with you and very important to us to uphold.

We direct email approximately six emails per year from our database to our members to share vendor information, again not allowing the vendors access to your name and contact information. This practice protects you from advertisers and unwarranted emails. Our select emails are focused on information and opportunities for the design community. Great News, Members!

On occasion, a fabulous opportunity is presented to us to share with our DSA designers. Such was the case when we were contacted by HGTV regarding their search for a new star for their television network. We know that a number of you participated in that search, and we recently received direct word that a few of our member submissions are being considered!
