Only the Best Moving Services for Interior Designers
“Give me a museum and I'll fill it.” – Pablo Picasso, Spanish Painter, Sculptor and Printmaker
World-renowned artist Pablo Picasso, whose works of art have sold for hundreds of millions of dollars, often made this comment when talking about his prolific ability to create.
Museums, which are where so many of us have seen some of the most delicate, intricate and studied art pieces in the world, are time capsules for history. They preserve some of the most beautiful things on this planet, and Picasso’s pieces are absolutely some of the best.
So imagine, if you will, if you had a chance to not only see one of his pieces in person, but to also handle it—albeit delicately—and be tasked with moving it ever so carefully into someone’s home and helping hang it in this new space.
Described as a white glove moving service, Colwright works with a host of designers, private clients, real estate agents and contractors, delivering top-notch services for everything from a whole-home move to the rearrangement of a single room.
“‘White glove’ at Colwright is about going into a space with a good presence—smile on your face, good rapport—and our expectation is to take our time,” Paratore says. “We aren’t trying to rush into a home and deliver their items. We want to make it an experience … taking our time to make sure everything is delivered the right way and nothing is damaged.”
We had the pleasure of interviewing Paratore recently, learning more about the company and how they provide excellent services to clients, especially those in the interior design industry.

You need a point of view, not just a portfolio.
By Ericka Saurit
What makes you memorable isn’t your work. It’s what you believe!
Last month, we talked about what branding really is (and why it’s not your logo!). It’s not even how your brand looks, but what it means.
This month, we’re going a step deeper…
Because even after you've defined your positioning and clarified your audience, there's one essential element that sets your brand apart:
Your point of view.
Not your services. Not your process. Not your portfolio.
Your perspective. Your beliefs. Your take.

Where and How to Use AI in Your Design Workflow
Ever wondered how designers are really using AI day-to-day?
In this month’s AI in Design episode, Jenna Gaidusek pulls back the curtain on her own workflow—showing exactly where tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Canva’s new AI magic fit into her creative process. From streamlining client onboarding to creating clickable Canva websites instead of static PDFs, Jenna proves that AI can make your design life not only easier—but a lot more fun.

Fall High Point Market Recap
High Point Market’s fall edition continues the tradition of being the ultimate destination for interior designers.
With boots on the ground Oct. 17-21 in High Point, North Carolina, our team at DSA shared some amazing insight into this fall’s event organization, saying it was exceptional and showcased excellent transportation and signage, and that the overall flow felt seamless.

“Each year, the experience somehow gets better and better, with smooth logistics and a polished presentation throughout,” says Haley Hinson Ishmael, DSA Operations and Marketing Coordinator.
“Many of the discussion sessions focused on supporting designers facing business or creative challenges,” Ishamael adds. “Topics leaned toward business coaching, marketing strategies and practical advice for growing a design practice.”
And while attendance seemed slightly lighter compared to previous years—and possibly reflecting a natural industry shift following the post-COVID-19 surge in new designers—the overall tone felt more intentional and reflective, with designers focusing on strategy and sustainability in their careers.
The fall keynote speaker was Architectural Digest Editor-in-Chief Amy Astley, who shared with attendees more details about the publication’s rebrand. This is Astley’s 10th year in the role.
“Amy’s presentation covered how Architectural Digest is engaging a new generation of design admirers through storytelling and digital evolution,” Ishmael says. “She also shared behind-the-scenes insights into featuring high-profile homes, including Alicia Keys’ residence.”

DSA Insider: Contract Tips, Events and Fresh Reads
Design Contract Tip from Attorney Wendy Estela:
Tip No. 7: Protect Yourself with Liability Limits
Include liability limitations in your contracts, especially regarding contractor work, product performance, and delays outside your control. Your potential exposure should always be capped at the dollar amount you have been paid for your services. You do not want to be sued for an amount that is far greater than what you earned on the project.
When drafting your design contracts, don’t skip the fine print that keeps you safe—liability limitations. These clauses help shield you from being held responsible for things beyond your control, like a contractor’s mistake, a product that underperforms, or unexpected project delays. The golden rule? Make sure your potential exposure is capped at the amount you were actually paid for the job—because no designer wants to face a lawsuit that costs more than their entire project fee!
